The term CE is an abbreviation of the word “Communauté Européenne” or in English: “European Community”. You can find the CE label on various technical products. It provides information on whether the product meets the high technical standards of the EU. The standards relate to product safety, environmental protection and health protection.

CE marking is mandatory for all smart home products - otherwise the product may not be sold in the EU. However, the CE marking says nothing to you personally about the quality of the device, but only informs the responsible authorities about compliance with the standards.
