New smart home actuators with Tasmota firmware offer cloud-free smart home enjoyment

Neue Smart-Home-Aktoren mit Firmware Tasmota bieten cloudfreies Smart-Home-Vergnügen

Bad Salzdetfurth, November 15, 2022 – The smart home provider wesmartify GmbH is expanding its range with two wireless actuators on which the open-source Tasmota firmware is pre-installed. Both actuators are TÜV-certified and are characterized by their particularly high heat resistance. They are available from www.wesmartify.de .

Actuators are the invisible helpers in the smart home: They are installed hidden in existing flush-mounted sockets, receive the control commands from the residents of the house (e.g. "lights off") and then automatically trigger the desired action (the lighting goes out).

Tasmota opens up new possibilities

With the Tasmota actuators, wesmartify is primarily aimed at experienced hobbyists who want to create their own smart home world - with a manufacturer-independent combination of smart devices and detached from the cloud, only located in the local network. To do this, the DIY smart home fans choose their favorite devices, then flash Tasmota on these devices (i.e. transfer the original firmware with Tasmota), configure the MQTT function (so that all components are controlled via a central smart home software can be) and finally bring all components together under one software umbrella. Since Tasmota is already pre-installed in the wesmartify actuators, the user saves the potentially error-prone flashing - the actuators are ready for use immediately.

First-class protection against overheating, TÜV-certified quality

Some smart home actuators - especially in the low price range - have a clear weak point: They can overheat very quickly. Not so with the new Tasmota actuators from wesmartify: high-quality printed circuit boards with efficient heat management are used here, which reduce the risk of local overheating. In addition, wesmartify has optimized the installation space of the actuators so that the warm air has more space to circulate and escape. In addition, the actuators were equipped with overload and excess temperature protection (at an internal temperature of 90 °C), which switches off automatically if the programmed threshold values are exceeded. The high quality of the actuators is underpinned by the TÜV Süd certification.

No gateway required - a free app is sufficient

Anyone who is not interested in "smart home tinkering" and would like to use the actuators separately from a larger smart home system can simply use the new My wesmartify app, which is available free of charge: With the help of the app, the actuators can be quickly integrated into the home WLAN and operational; an additional gateway is not required. The actuators are also controlled via the app.

Switch electrical consumers conveniently from the sofa: wesmartify smart home actuator Switch It TASMOTA (RRP €18.95)

Consumers such as lamps, televisions, loudspeakers or electric heat pumps can be switched on and off with the 1-channel switching actuator Switch It. With a switching capacity of up to 3,680 watts, the actuator is suitable for even the most energy-hungry devices. The supply voltage is either 110-230 V ±10%, 50/60Hz AC, 12V DC or 24 V DC. Schedules can also be created using the my wesmartify app, you can check whether the light is really off while you're on the go, or simulate your own presence when you're on holiday.

Of course, the smart actuators also set the roller shutters in motion when called.
